Hi! I’m a HYVERT.ai living wall and I have great news about how all my plants are helping to clean the air whilst also making a great home for wildlife here in Altrincham

BIODIVERSITY
Invertebrates are all the wonderful small creatures that are vital to the ecosystem. They help pollinate flowers, get rid of annoying pests and also are the food for local wildlife like hedgehogs, birds & bats.
I’m planted with a wide variety of plants and soil types to make sure I can be the best home to a large number of invertebrates.

URBAN WILDLIFE
All the invertebrate (the proper name for insects) that love to live in my soil are A great source of food for the birds and bats who use me as their new home.
Some birds like to dig into my soil to make a nice warm nest, whilst others will use the specially designed nesting boxes which are attached to me. Keep an eye out to see what you can spot.

ACOUSTICS
THE mix of plant species, unique planting pattern, special soil mixture & our hyvert modules help to reduce loud sounds you hear in the street, making it more comfortable and peaceful whilst you walk through the area.
The HYVERT living wall absorbs sound waves and stops the sounds reflecting back, meaning the local traffic nearby will sound quieter than before! The HYVERT living walls typically reduce sound by 9.3db, this is like the sound of a vacuum cleaner being reduced to the sound of a running shower.

THERMALS
THE plants create a fine mist during the day to keep you cool, they also absorb heat and light from the sun so the building doesn't have to use as much energy to cool down.
The HYVERT living wall acts like your coat in winter, by adding more layers to the building's exterior it helps to stop heat escaping from the building during the cold winter months.

CO2
Urban areas in the UK contribute approximately 80–85% of total CO₂ emissions, driven by dense population centres, high transport demand, and energy use in buildings and services.
In Manchester transport from cars, vans, & buses make up 24% of the CO₂ emissions. Retrofitting buildings with low-carbon heating programs, insulation & adding nature to cool down cities are key to tackling this and improving the environment.

PM2.5
PM stands for Particulate Matter and 2.5 micrometers is the measure. That’s roughly 30 times smaller than the width of a human hair! It's so tiny, that when inhaled, it can travel deep into your lungs and even enter your bloodstream and cause adverse health effects.
Air quality is an enormous issue in England, the total cost due to PM2.5 to the NHS and social care is estimated to be £1.5billion - £2.8billion by 2025, and £5.1billion - £9.4billion by 2035.
An estimated 1,200 premature deaths per year in Greater Manchester are linked to long-term PM2.5 exposure. Manchester is leading the way in tackling poor air quality by electrifying it’s buses & taxis (e.g. Bee Network investment), planting trees & green infrastructure (e.g. landscaping, living walls & parks) and also helping to encourage walking, cycling & public transport via infrastructure upgrades.

PM10
My plants also capture PM10, helping you breathe cleaner air
PM10 is a term for fine particles (Particulate Matter) which are harmful for humans as they are so small it's hard for the body to combat. 10 micrometers is the measure.
They can irritate the eyes, nose and throat and may even worsen asthma or bronchitis and they originate from a mixture of industrial & urban sources such as construction, vehicles and manufacturing.
